Mark Ciesielski had looked far and wide for his dream Mustang. For two years, he scoured classified ads and chased dead ends. Eventually, his dream machine showed up in the last place he expected to find it: right outside his front door.“One day this one showed up at my neighbor’s house,” said Ciesielski with a grin. “The guy who owned it was friends with my neighbor, and I just said to my wife [Cathy], ‘Look out the window at this Mustang!’ There was just something different about it … A year later it went up for sale and we were the first ones that had the opportunity to buy it.“I had asked my neighbor if it was is for sale, but he said no, the guy restored this one for his personal use. But he ended up buying a Boss 302 a year later … As soon as I heard about it, I was right there at his doorstep.

Gary Pietraniec still remembers fondly how much fun he had shopping for a new muscle car back in 1969, not long after his hitch ended with the U.S. Army.

More than four decades later, Pietraniec had a similar itch, and he was back in the market for a vintage piece of 1960s American muscle. And just as he had been back in ’69, Pietraniec wasn’t just muscle car shopping, he was “Goat” hunting. The first time around, the Dearborn Heights, Mich., resident opted for a 1968 Pontiac GTO. For his latest Goat, he went back a bit further, landing a 1966 hardtop that has clearly fit the bill nicely as a nearly original muscle machine that makes for a dandy weekend driver.

Most old car buffs have dreams of their “someday” cars. As in, “someday, somehow, I want to own one of those.” It might be a Duesenberg, a split-window Corvette, a 1960s VW Super Beetle, or a Model T Ford. Quite often, they are out of our reach, but it sure doesn’t hurt to dream.

Louis Barrie came across his personal “someday” machine back in 2006. It might not have arrived as he had dreamt – the body had been stripped and was in a state of partial restoration, while most of the rest of the car was in boxes. But it was a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T, and Barrie had wanted one for as long as he could remember.

Old Cars Weekly – Car of the Week: 1965 Cadillac Sedan DeVille

1965 Cadillac Sedan DeVille

Bob Mayer makes no bones about it: he loves original automobiles. Low-mileage, unrestored, in-tact cars are right in his wheelhouse. The well-known, retired Miami television newsman has had his share of such cars in the past, but he’s never had one that was as stunningly original as the sweet 1965 Cadillac Sedan DeVille that he uncovered — literally — last spring. He’s also never had a car that was so dirty and … uh … aromatic as the hulking Caddy. Fortunately, Mayer doesn’t mind putting up with a little cleaning and elbow grease when it comes to his cars, especially when the diamond that needs to be polished is as flawless as his ’65 DeVille.

1957 Pontiac Bonneville

Just six years into its life, the beautiful white and red 1957 Pontiac Bonneville convertible seemed headed for a nomadic existence. Surely, somebody would want to hang onto such an attractive, well-appointed droptop. It was an undeniable beautiful car, plush and comfortable, with a big, powerful engine — and it was a convertible! But for some reason, the unusual first-year Pontiac — which would eventually become very collectible and valuable — had gone through three owners in six years and was looking for a fourth. That’s when Chuck Richardson came into the story. And that’s where the shuffling of the car’s title stopped.
